Peter Copping Mentorship
A Lanvin-inspired eveningwear look developed through Peter Copping's SCAD mentorship, selected for the SCAD Fashion Show and featured by Vogue Runway.
In early 2026, Samantha was selected as one of six SCAD fashion design students invited into a mentorship with Peter Copping. The assignment was to design from the heritage of Lanvin, translating the house's legacy into a contemporary collection proposal.
Samantha's concept, A Mother's Muse, looked to Jeanne Lanvin and Marguerite, honoring motherhood not as a detour from creative ambition but as one of its deepest sources. The look developed through soft structure, sculpted volume, pleated movement, and hand-built floral embellishment.
Peter selected one of Samantha's looks for refinement, guiding the design as it moved from concept board to finished garment. Over the following months, Samantha brought the piece to life in luminous yellow, balancing couture-inspired craft with a modern sense of ceremony.
The completed dress was chosen for the SCAD Fashion Show, where it appeared on the runway and was later featured by Vogue Runway as look 192.
